What is DTMF Remote?

It is add on software for HAM Radio Deluxe that allows you to remotely control your radio from any location using ANY cell phone.

What does it do?

DTMF Radio connects to HAM Radio Deluxe via DDE commands and allows you to run your radio remotely using DTMF tones and Skype(TM).  It is an interface between your phone and your radio that allows you to control your radio remotely. You can change frequency, talk (broadcast), and listen while you are mobile (in your vehicle, on a boat, on a train, while hunting, fishing, or camping) or any place that takes you away from your shack and you want to check on what's happening on your favorite bands. No need to buy a separate portable radio, no need to fuss with mounting an antenna on your vehicle. 

What equipment do I need?

DTMF Remote is designed for use with HAM Radio Deluxe v4.1 beta build 2321.  THIS WILL NOT WORK WITH ANY HIGHER VERSION OF HAM RADIO DELUXE. You'll also need a computer running Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7, a touchtone phone, and a Skype account. (A SkypeIn number is required to dial in. However, Smartphone users do not need a SkypeIn number.)

How does it work?

You use your cell phone to send DTMF tones via the Internet to your home computer, which "talks" to your radio. The radio in turn "talks" back to you (in voice) by verifying your commands. Special phonepad key sequences allow you to "key the mic" and "unkey the mic" allowing you to communicate.

Is it easy to use?

If you can use a telephone, you can use DTMF Remote.

• Access to 10 preset frequencies
• Change radio to any mode
• Up/Down in frequency in increments of  10KHz, 1 KHz, and 100Hz
• Synthesized voice verification of S-Meter, Frequency, and Mode
• Transmit with timeout timer
• Run up to 10 programs via DTMF touchtones

How much does it cost?

DTMF Remote is "donateware". The author has spent over 4 years of his time and personal money to develop this software for his use.  As an avid HAM enthusiast for over 30 years, he learned VB6 on his own to develop this program.  Should you find this software invaluable, please make a donation in an amount that best suits your budget.
